Content Management Privileges (CMP) allow the User Administrator to define what the user can and cannot do on the Portals and in the Cortex advanced area. A user account can have multiple CMP. i.e. Chief Editor, Create Cases and Faculty
NOTE: To be able to use the Cortex Advanced Area, the user account must be “active” account (Refer to creating user accounts for more information on how to set a user account to active.)
Privilege and what the user can do ....
Create Case
Create Case CMP is required for any user to be able to enter case information into Cortex either from the portal or from the advanced area regardless of any other CMP role.
- Create Case is assigned at the product, course and category level.
- Requires Editor Role on the user account.
- User can view the cases based on the assigned Create Case CMP (if only one course has CMP, user will only see the cases for that course)
- User will be able to edit only their cases. When a user creates a case, they are automatically assigned CMP for Case Editor for just that case.
- User can view/edit only the cases they created. They cannot delete / move or copy their cases.
- User can create an activity from within Cortex but only assign the cases they created.
- Create case does not apply to RADS products – use Chief Editor or Reviewer CMP at the course level for any RADS product.
Reviewer
Reviewer CMP is primarily used for the RADS products and is assigned at the Course/Category/Case level.
- For RADS products, the Reviewer can upload images, edit the image caption and chat but cannot edit definition, edit/add synonyms, delete case or change case hierarchy.
ACR PS
ACR PS or ACR Production Specialist is used for ACR Staff. It allows the user access to the cases during all stages of the editing process aa well as giving cases a final publishing date.
- ACR PS is assigned at the product, course and category level but product level is preferred.
- Requires the Editor Role on the user account.
- ACR PS will see the Edit button for all cases for the assigned product.
- Case View List and Case Search will display all cases under the assigned product.
- ACR PS can create an activity from Cortex Advanced area only and add cases for the assigned product.
- ACR PS can edit or delete a case from all editing phases.
Chief Editor
Chief Editor CMP allows the user the edit cases created by other users.
- Chief Editor is assigned at the product, course and category level but product level is preferred.
- Requires the Editor Role on the user account.
- Chief Editor will see the Edit button for all cases under the assigned Chief Editor CMP. If assigned at the product level, then all cases for the product will have the edit button.
- Case View List and Case Search will display all cases under the assigned Chief Editor CMP.
- Chief Editor can create an activity from Cortex Advanced area and add cases based on Chief Editor CMP.
- Chief Editor can edit or delete a case from all editing phases. Chief Editor cannot perform the ACR Review phase.
Faculty
Faculty CMP allows the user access to the Activity Designer and Faculty Module via the admin link from the institution portal.
- Faculty is assigned at the product level.
- Faculty CMP requires the Editor Role.
- Faculty has access to the Admin link from the portal and access to Activity Designer, Question Set Branching and the Faculty Module.
- Faculty Module activities and users are restricted to the institution on the Faculty user account.
Proctor
Proctor CMP allows the user access to the Faculty Module but not the Activity Designer. A proctor can see the status of the users, performance, reset activities but not create or edit activities.
- Proctors are assigned at the product level
- Proctors do not require a system role
- Faculty Module is restricted to the proctor’s institution on the user account (proctor can only see activities & users associated with their institution)
- WIDI Portal only – Proctors can access the Tracking page (Faculty Module in Cortex) and the Simulation User List on the SIM SETUP page to Start/Stop simulation, reset simulation and change duration of the simulation.
The following CMP is available but not commonly used:
Reader
Can only read/preview the cases within Cortex. Reader CMP can only be given at course/category level. This CMP is not required for basic users reviewing cases from their portal.
Reporter
Reporter is assigned at the Product, Course and Category levels. Does not require a role. Allows the user to export information from the Cortex dashboard.
Case Contributor
Case contributors is given to users that have helped author with creating cases.
